Just another in the family// Bucky x Reader

The rain was pounding on the glass of the car; (y/n) and Bucky were returning home after a
long and tiring day of work at the SHIELD, she had dozed off almost as soon as she touched
the seat of the car leaving Bucky without someone to talk to, not that he was a great
speaker, but he liked to talk to her, it was as if he could forget all of his problems,
and this made him feel good.

"Damn it!" he said, making (y/n) wake up with a start "W-what happened James?" she asked
sleepily "I'm sorry honey ..." he apologized "...the fact is that there's traffic ...!" he
explained pointing to the cars "Oh well! what will be a bit of traffic?! It will mean that
we will return home a little later than expected!" she said calmly, smiling and giving a
kiss on the lips to Bucky, who smiled back.

An hour had now passed, and finally the cars had started to flow; (y/n) had the head
against the window of the car, staring with her (e/c) eyes the landscape that was washed
by the rain, she liked the rain, it relaxed her, but especially, she loved the smell that
it was carrying.

In her peer, her eyes fell on a small spot which  slowly moved on the road; she narrowed
her eyes slightly to focus better the small figure "BUCKY STOP THE CAR!" she cried
suddenly, making scare to death Bucky, who suddenly stopped the car "(Y/N)! Wha-" but he
doesn't had time to finish the sentence that he saw his girlfriend getting
out of the car and run in the rain, wearing his jacket; Bucky could do nothing that follow
her with the car.

"(Y/N)! What the hell were you thinking?" he asked, while his girlfriend was returning to
the car; without answering (y/n) came up, now wet from the head to the toe, to the car
with a huge smile "look!" she said gently, and slowly opening the jacket, from where
appeared a puppy: it was all chocolate brown with some white markings, and some spots on
the paws and the muzzle, and it was completely wet.

"Oh (y/n)!" Bucky sighed, as she sat on the seat, paying attention to the puppy "we have
to take him to a veterinarian as soon as possible ..." he was about to contradict her, but
before he could say anything "... please Bucky!" she said with a sad tone and with that
look to which either the (ex) Winter Soldier couldn't resist "... okay!" he said with a
sigh "thank you Babe!" she said giving him a kiss on the cheek and taking the puppy warm.

Luckily, the puppy was in full health, all it had was a scratch on the ear;(y/n) and Bucky
were arguing about whether or not to keep the puppy "(y/n), you know I'm not a dog lover
... animals in general," he said, while he changed his wet T-shirt "oh come on Barnes, you
weren't even a big humans lover ... but then you met me" she joked "I'm talking seriously
(y/n), keeping a dog is a big responsibility, we have a job that keep us busy, are we
really able to take care of him?" "Well we'll find out a way" she said "I think it would
be better if we find him a home,(y/n)" she turn around and stared at Bucky "and if they
leave him again? and if this time he couldn't survive?" he shook his head "(y/n) we will
not keep at home an animal whose we're not sure if we can take care of it!" at that time
in the room came in, wagging his tail, the puppy; (y/n) picked him up, but the puppy
disentangled himself from the grip of the girl, which put him on the ground.

On the ground the puppy went to meet Bucky, but he took and put him outside the bedroom
door; "The dog does not remain, (y/n), I'm sorry!" "Fine!" was all she said while she went
to bed.

During the night, the puppy was yelping, and Bucky had to keep getting up to shut him up,
but obviously to no avail; the millionth time Bucky had to get out of bed "... that's why
I didn't want a dog!" he muttered to himself.
The puppy was in the living room, on the carpet whining, but when he saw Bucky approach,he
ran up to him wagging his tail, Bucky picked him up and lay down on the sofa holding in
his arms the puppy, the puppy licked Bucky's face "oh you little manipulator!" he said,
stroking the puppy's head, the puppy yawned and both fell asleep on the couch.

The next morning (y/n) woke up with a feeling of emptiness around her, waking up
completely and rubbing her eyes, she realized that Bucky wasn't there; got out of bed, she
went to the living room: on the couch, still asleep, Bucky was holding the puppy on his
stomach, that was more asleep than him; a small laugh came from her mouth, making wake
Bucky "what are you doing here?" he asked sleepily "I was about to ask you the same thing"
she said "I had to keep quiet the beast that I have on my stomach!" he said pointing at
the puppy, who woke up and tumbled off the couch, going to meet (y/n) which took him in
her arms; seeing (y/n) so happy with that puppy, Bucky got up from the couch and walked
over to her, hugging her from behind "we keep him" he whispered in her ear "What?" she
asked, turning to meet Bucky's face, "we keep the puppy" he said smilig at her "Buc-
seriously? ... how come you've changed your mind?" she asked incredulously "I've never
seen you so happy, except when I asked you to be my fiancée ... and I like to see you
happy, that's all!" he said looking into her eyes.

Her eyes began to shine, and letting go of the puppy, she hugged Bucky, who returned the
hug "That's why I love you so much!" she said kissing him on the lips "but ... are you
convinced, Bucky?" she asked to the man which hugged her tigh "yeah it would be fun ...
it's ... just another in the family!" he said kissing her and they sat together on the
couch, followed by the wagging puppy.
