Favorite Uncle // Child!Reader x Bucky

"Captain Rogers!" Coulson's voice echoed in the hallway of the Helicarrier "we've got your 'package'!" the captain turned his head and saw the agent Coulson approaching and behind him, clinging like a koala in his right leg, there was (y/n) "PAPAAA!" her eyes lit up at the sight of her favorite superhero: her dad.

"(Y/N), sweetheart" Steve went to meet his 4 year old girl, lifted her into the air and hugged her (there were now six months that he didn't see her), (y/n) twirled her small hands around Steve's neck "I missed you so much, daddy!"she said, her face in his chest "I missed you too darling" he said, smiling and giving her a kiss on her hair.
(y/n) yawned, Steve put her on the floor and smiling took the little girl's hand and walked towards his room; (y/n) followed him, rubbing her eyes wearily.

In the room were already placed all of her things, even her little purple backpack; Steve changed (y/n) in her lilac pajamas and put her in his bed, tucking the blankets "where's Cookie?" she asked, yawning (cookie is her stuffed wolf) Steve looked everywhere, until he found her beloved stuffed in her backpack; he gently positioned Cookie next to her, giving her a kiss on the cheek and wished her good night, Steve was about to leave the room, but a small hand grabbed his pants "(y/n) what's going on, sweetie?" her eyes took the puppy expression "could you read to me the story of the three dogs*, pleeease?" She asked, pointing to her backpack where there was the book, Steve smiled at himself and taking the book from her bag, he sat down beside the bed next to (y/n), which hugged his arm.

Steve began to read the story, while (y/n) looked at the pictures; halfway of the story, the door of the room opened "hey Steve! I wa-" the two turned their heads "UNCLE BUCKYYY!" (y/n) came out from under the covers and ran towards the soldier "Hey! Little brat!" he greeted her picking her up "how are you?" he asked "Dad is reading to me the story of the three dogs,would you like to join us?" Bucky couldn't refuse looking at those huge (e/c)
eyes and smiling he broughts (y/n)) in bed while Steve tucked the blankets again,Bucky sat on the other side of the bed.

(y/n) curled up next to Steve's chest and took Bucky's metal hand, he smiled gently "Can I continue?" Steve asked, (y/n) nodded, watching her father in his blue eyes; Steve continued the story while stroking (y/n)'s hair.
After the story, Steve and Bucky looked at (y/n), which was still curled up next to Steve and now she was holding only one of Bucky's fingers, both smiled and, being careful not to wake her up, they stood up from the bed; Steve gave (y/n) a forehead kiss, which made (y/n) smiled in her sleep, which made Steve laugh, and always being careful not to wake her up, he closed the bedroom door.

Everything was dark, and there was no one near her. The fear began to take over,and tears began to fall from (y/n)'s face.
"P-papa?" she cried, you could hear the fear in her quivering voice "pa-papa!"she called again, but she received no reply. Slowly (y/n) got out of the bed and opened the bedroom door, taking in her little hand her stuffed wolf.

She searched in (almost) all of the Helicarrier, but she found no one even her father; still with tears in her eyes, (y/n) crouched in a corner, with the thought of the nightmare she had hah and she hugged her Cookie.
A hand rested on her head, still sobbing (y/n) raised her head "un-uncl- uncle Bu-Bucky?!" the soldier took her in his arms and stroked her hair, at his touch (y/n) nuzzled in Bucky's chest and squinted her eyes to try to forget the nightmare, her voice was still a little shaky "un-uncle Buc-ky ... wher-where's pa-papa?" he looks down at her "Dad had to go on a mission with the others ... but I'm here ... Am I ok?" He said, smiling, and saw (y/n) nod slowly "C'mon ... I'll take ya back to bed".

Once in the room, Bucky positioned the girl on the bed and tucked the blankets, and sat down beside her; (y/n) clung, with all the force that a 4 year old girl can have, at the T-shirt of the soldier, who patted her back soothingly to calm her down and began to sing
"Moon river, wider than a mile
I'm crossin' you in style some day
Old dream maker, you heartbreaker
Wherever you're goin', I'm goin' your way ..."
(y/n) opened her eyes and stared at Bucky, who gave her a reassuring smile and continued to sing
"...Two drifters, off to see the world
There's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end, waitin' 'round the bend
My huckleberry friend, Moon River, and me".

(y/n) raised her (e/c) eyes to meet Bucky's "uncle Bucky?" the soldier looked at the little girl "hmmm?" (y/n) hugged his metal arm "you're mah favorite ucle ..." Bucky smirked satisfied "... but don't tell the others ... uncle Tony could become veeery jealous" she said, yawning, Bucky laughed and gave her a kiss "okay lil' squirt ... it will be our little secret!" but (y/n) didn't hear the last sentence because she was already asleep, hugging the arm of her favorite uncle.
